Integrated Project Delivery Model
The Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) model is an alternative to traditional forms of project delivery. Its value proposition includes improvements in cost, schedule, and quality, achieved in an atmosphere that is less adversarial and more collaborative. Our IPD project team is high functioning and resilient, with a strong collaborative culture marked by mutual trust, respect, accountability and transparency. “Many designers who have worked in an IPD environment report that is richer and more invigorating than traditional practice and that the relationship and trust built between designers and contractors allows the designers to focus on the creative aspects of their practice“(IPD Guide).
This joint approach includes involvement from RAM and Somerville from the outset, by laying rich foundations of project data and information, management and decision-making processes, communications protocols, financial controls, risk-mitigation strategies, and performance metrics. With both the Construction Management Team and Project Execution team engaged in the beginning of the project, we will be in a position to design, implement and deliver a safe, cost effective, innovative and quality driven project.

Our Executive Management Team consists of individuals with extensive industry knowledge and technical experience that ensure our clients are provided excellent value through best-in-class services delivered by a competent workforce dedicated to quality and safety. RB Somerville’s main areas of focus are Pipeline Construction/Maintenance, Integrity Work, Power and Utility Distribution, Utilities Infrastructure and Horizontal Directional Drilling along with a focus on Renewable Energy.
RAM was incorporated in 2007, and is a privately-owned BC based company, with its Head Office located in downtown Vancouver. RAM specializes in project and construction management, and electrical, civil, mechanical and structural engineering, and provides professional services to both owners and contractors throughout Canada and in the Caribbean. RAM services many sectors including transportation, infrastructure, utilities, energy and marine. RAM’s permanent staff consists of 80 permanent employees including professional, technical, and support staff.
Since its foundation 14 years ago, RAM has been involved in major municipal infrastructure projects as project and construction managers, designers, field engineers, inspectors, and quality managers. Our goal is to provide personalized services tailored to each individual client’s needs supported by a multidisciplinary team of specialists and professionals. Both companies are excited to announce the strategic formation of the joint Integrated Project Delivery Model.
