Every year, RAM proudly recognizes team members who exemplify exceptional performance, dedication, and meaningful contributions in their roles through the Presidential Awards. These awards celebrate individuals who go above and beyond to embody RAM’s core values, inspire their peers, and drive success across the organization.
The three award categories—Standout Performer, Future Thinker, and Everyday Hero—highlight the unique strengths and achievements of our team. From delivering outstanding results and showcasing innovation to demonstrating commitment and support, these awards honor the incredible impact RAM employees make every day.
Standout Performer Award: Thomas Bekenn, P.Eng., PMP – Lead, Project Manager
This award recognizes an individual who consistently delivers exceptional performance and sets a high standard for leadership, teamwork, and results.
Thomas truly represents everything this award stands for. As a leader, he’s always there to listen to his team, address concerns, and offer support while still empowering everyone to take ownership of their work. He understands how to motivate and support his team, leading by example and creating a work environment where collaboration and excellence thrive.
In the fast-paced world of RAM, Thomas’s calm and focused approach is invaluable. His ability to structure projects and tackle challenges methodically has made a significant impact—not just here at RAM, but also with our partners at Metro Vancouver, where his outstanding work has built strong relationships.
Beyond his professional achievements, Thomas plays a key role in building RAM’s culture. He’s always involved in company activities, participates in events, and steps up to lead efforts within the PM team. He brings people together, values everyone’s input, and helps create an inclusive, team-oriented atmosphere.
Integrity is at the heart of everything Thomas does. His professionalism, transparency, and respect for others—whether colleagues or clients—are evident in every interaction.
Standout Performer Award: Kerry Howley – Corporate Services Coordinator
Kerry is the heartbeat of our Calgary office and a huge part of RAM’s success. Her contributions are nothing short of extraordinary, spanning everything from managing critical proposals to cultivating a culture of care, inclusivity, and excellence.
Kerry is a “pro” at managing the proposal process, always making sure our submissions are top-notch—often juggling multiple proposals in a week. Her attention to detail and personal touch, like writing handwritten notes for clients or new team members, have strengthened relationships and elevated RAM in a competitive market. Her tireless work ethic, positivity, and determination inspire us all—whether she’s juggling multiple proposals, organizing team events, or going the extra mile for deadlines.
What really sets Kerry apart is her commitment to the people around her. She creates a welcoming environment, remembers every birthday and milestone, and brings us together through events and initiatives. She goes out of her way to make sure makes everyone feel welcome, not just at RAM but also with our partners at Encepta and Torus Talent.
Kerry is the first to arrive, the last to leave, tackling challenges with a positivity and a “can-do” attitude. Whether working late into the night to meet deadlines or finding innovative ways to grow our brand and client base, Kerry embodies what it means to go above and beyond.
Future Thinker Award: Sharon Choi – Lead, Marketing & Proposals
This award recognizes an individual whose creativity, vision, and innovation shape the future of RAM and drives our success.
Sharon has been an incredible force at RAM, driving our brand forward with unmatched dedication and vision. Throughout our growth, RAM has consistently radiated the energy of a “big brand”, and that’s largely due to Sharon’s innovative leadership and creative direction. She’s not just keeping up with the industry, she’s setting the pace and making sure we’re ahead of the curve.
Sharon’s influence is felt across all aspects of her work. From securing diverse sponsorships to creating bold, eye-catching imagery, she’s reshaped how we connect with our clients, partners, and the community. Her work ensures that while our technical teams focus on engineering excellence, our brand remains strong, relevant, and future-focused.
Through her ingenuity, Sharon has strengthened RAM’s reputation, made our messaging resonate, and enabled us to stay ahead in a competitive market. Her ability to align her creativity with RAM’s values and long-term vision exemplifies what it means to be a true Future Thinker.
Everyday Hero Award: Raha Yazdandoost, EIT – Electrical Designer
This award recognizes an individual who goes above and beyond to create a positive, collaborative, and supportive workplace culture.
Raha is a cornerstone of the RAM office, going beyond her technical role to champion RAM’s culture. Her leadership fosters collaboration, participation in events, and a sense of connection that makes RAM a better place to work.
This year, Raha’s efforts were particularly impactful in creating a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment for all. The camaraderie she has built, especially on the EV Charging program, is evident in how seamlessly the electrical, civil, and drafting teams now work together. Her efforts have not only strengthened relationships within the office but also enhanced the quality of our projects and outcomes.
Raha consistently goes above and beyond, whether assisting with the BC Hydro Customer Build program, meeting client deadlines, creating change orders, or mentoring new staff. Her approachable and generous nature fosters trust and growth, while her commitment to quality and efficiency elevates the entire team.
What truly sets Raha apart is her exceptional care for her colleagues’ well-being, advocating for resources and support when needed. Her actions, from organizing events to improving our workspaces, show her dedication to making RAM a better place for everyone.
