Bobby Malach: Steering RAM’s BC Hydro Program to Success

With more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience and a proven track record managing programs valued at over $1.8 billion, Bobby leads some of BC Hydro’s most critical initiatives with strategic insight and a focus on delivering lasting value for communities across British Columbia.
Bobby’s career includes senior leadership roles in utilities, engineering, and infrastructure delivery, including key positions at BC Hydro, AltaLink, and Wood. He has led large-scale transmission, distribution, and substation projects from concept to completion, expertly balancing specialized expertise with a keen eye for cost efficiency and the ability to broker consensus among diverse, and often competing, stakeholders. Bobby’s approach blends technical excellence with a motivational leadership style. He builds high-performing teams that consistently meet and exceed client expectations.
RAM’s BC Hydro Program
In 2024, RAM was awarded a significant long-term contract to provide Engineering and Project Delivery Services for BC Hydro’s transmission and distribution systems across the province. Under this agreement, which forms a key part of BC Hydro’s $36 billion 10-year capital plan, RAM delivers a comprehensive scope of services aimed at enhancing the reliability and sustainability of electricity.
As Program Director, Bobby’s focus includes driving efficiencies in program delivery, strengthening collaboration across engineering and construction disciplines, and embedding continuous improvement practices that reduce costs and enhance quality. Bobby’s expertise in program governance ensures projects are aligned not only with BC Hydro’s technical requirements but also with its broader commitment to modernize its infrastructure while ensuring environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.
