Project Description

RAM was contracted by the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) to conduct a slope stability geotechnical assessment of the embarkment supporting the Chapman water intake transmission line.

A desktop review and physical assessment of the area along the Chapman water intake transmission line are to be conducted. A final report is to be submitted to the SCRD providing the slope risk assessment, remediation recommendations, a rotational slope diagram and a slope monitoring plan.

Our Role

Ram is providing several services to this project, including:

  • site reconnaissance and assessments to assess the stability of the slope, and impacts on the water main;
  • engineering analysis to develop recommendations for slope stabilization and the underpinning of trestle foundations;
  • preparation of reports to the SCRD to recommend interim measures to address current risks and hazards, including surface water interception and diversion system, debris flow management, etc.;
  • recommendations on the safety of the work area from a geotechnical perspective.

Project Highlights

RAM has responded to urgent requests by the SCRD to address impacts on slope stability, and to recommend interim measures in the event of harsh or inclement weather such as heavy rainfall.

We also facilitated specialized investigations on unstable slopes and high-risk terrain to secure foundational data for analysis and engineering design.
