Adrian MacDonnell – 2025 Canadian Occupational Safety Young Achiever

Congratulations to RAM’s Senior Safety Advisor, Adrian MacDonnell, on being recognized as a rising star by Canadian Occupational Safety (COS) and named to the prestigious COS Young Achievers list for 2025!

The COS Young Achievers list celebrates the exceptional contributions and achievements of the top safety leaders under 35 across Canada and highlights the next generation of leaders making significant impacts in workplace safety and health. The young professionals on the 2025 list have demonstrated outstanding dedication, innovation, and leadership in their respective fields, contributing to safer workplaces and advancing the safety profession.

Since joining Pacific Safety Consulting Group (now RAM) in 2018, Adrian MacDonnell has played a key role in growing our Health and Safety Consulting and Field Services team. With a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety Systems from the National University of Ireland, over a decade of experience, and thousands of on-site hours in industries ranging from aviation to construction, Adrian brings a wealth of knowledge and an undeniable passion for building and maintaining a strong safety culture.

His systems-focused mindset, well-honed practical approach, and leadership skills have been evident on projects such as the Vancouver Airport Authority’s Contractor Safety Management Program (CSMP), where he played a crucial role in managing the risks associated with contracted work in one of Canada’s busiest airports. As Team Lead on this project, Adrian led a team of eight safety advisors and spearheaded a major safety and process overhaul in YVR’s baggage hall, an initiative that required both strategic oversight and detailed, hands-on execution. His expert guidance, clear, consistent reporting, and ability to embed safety in every layer of the project ensured a high standard of health and safety performance on a high-risk, multi-phase development.

In addition to his technical leadership, Adrian is committed to fostering a culture of safety through mentorship and team development. He takes pride in building strong working relationships across stakeholder groups, reflecting his dedication to both the profession and the people it protects. His recognition by COS as one of the industry’s top young talents is well earned.

Fernando De Melo, Principal, Safety Management, at RAM, says, “Adrian is well deserving of this recognition. He is driven by his values and commitment to doing what is right when it comes to safety for our clients and their employees.”
