While it’s predicted that 70 per cent of tomorrow’s jobs will require science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills, less than half of high school students graduate with the prerequisite courses to pursue engineering and other STEM careers. RAM is also dedicated to addressing the need for more women to pursue careers in STEM. Over the past decade, the number of women in the engineering profession in Canada has steadily grown. Despite this increase in the representation of women in engineering – both within the profession and in university engineering programs – women are still under-represented in this field.

It’s access, not ability.

More than ever, we need Geering Up’s programs to spark their curiosity, foster a sense of belonging, and empower their growth. From coding and robotics, to building structures like cardboard canoes, Geering Up helps all students, regardless of their background, to explore STEM concepts in a fun, engaging and inclusive environment.

• $25 covers the cost of materials for one child at a week-long STEM camp
• $50 covers the cost of materials for 25 kids at a one-day, in-school STEM workshop
• $75 sends a child to join a weekly STEM club (10 two-hour sessions)
• $100 sends a child to a week-long STEM camp
