Project Description

Project Description

As part of the phase five expansion of their diesel generating electricity plant, the British Virgin Islands Electricity Corporation, tendered works for bulk earthworks into an existing slope situated above the western boundary of the site. Development of the site includes a stabilization system consisting of passive ground anchors (soil nails) with installed length ranging from 1 m – 4 m, installed on a grid of approximately 2 m x 2 m. The face of the cut is stabilized using rockfall protection mesh.

RAM’s Role

RAM was retained by Meridian Construction to complete a detailed estimate for the bulk earthworks removal and the slope stabilization. The work included detail unit pricing from productions, crew buildup, equipment resources, and indirects. Research and pricing for drilling equipment was also conducted.
