Project Description
This multi-phased project consisted of the expansion of 32nd Avenue to 40th Avenue, and 40th Avenue to Cranbrook in the City of Surrey, B.C. The major tasks included earthworks and roadworks activities in proximity to Metro Vancouver’s assets.
Our Role
RAM’s quality management inspectors worked on behalf of Metro Vancouver to protect Metro Vancouver’s assets and act in their best interest during the City of Surrey’s road widening project. Our team was responsible for performing on-site inspections and coordination as the owner’s representative for the following:
- Liaising with the City of Surrey, the consultant engineer of record, the Metro Vancouver project engineer, and the contractor, to successfully prepare and issue daily inspection reports and photographs;
- Excavation and structural fill in close proximity to MV assets;
- Installing storm sewers and electrical conduits in order to parallel and cross MV assets;
- Positioning settlement monitoring gauges;
- Adjusting to Metro Vancouver appurtenances;
- Installing storm sewers.
