Project Description

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI) widened Mt. Lehman Road from a 2 lane Collector Road to a 4 lane Highway for approximately 6 kilometers. The project also consisted of extension of Marshall Road from Mt. Lehman Road.

RAM’s Role

RAM was retained by the General Contractor, Key-West Asphalt, to assist in Quality Control (QC) providing on site QC Coordination. Our scope of work included QC Plan Review consisting of checklists and ITP, site surveillance, review of QC test reports, preparing bi-weekly QC summary reports, assisting in closing out identified nonconformances and attending weekly construction meetings with MoTI. Key challenges included working in and around fish bearing streams and wet lands, maintaining access to private residences and traffic control considerations on a busy collector road (Mt. Lehman Road).

Project Highlights

The project also consisted of extension of Marshall Road from Mt. Lehman Road. Project highlights are:

  • 4 Lanning Mt. Lehman Road with new  bike lanes and sidewalks
  • Dedicated Southbound left-turn lane at the Mt. Lehman Road/Simpson Road intersection
  • Upgrading Mt. Lehman Road and Marshall Road Intersection with a signal
  • Realigning Marshall Road Extension
  • Enhancing Street Lighting along the route
