Project Description

The Con Edison Feeder 62 connects the Farragut Substation to the Rainey Substation in New York City. This project is to provide engineering and design services to upgrade existing electro-mechanical relays on Feeder 62 in both substations with new microprocessor-based relay protection utilizing digital communication channels.

RAM’s Role

Under the direction of Parson’s Engineer of Record, RAM prepared markups for removals and installations on DC schematics, AC schematics, and wiring diagrams for upgrade designs in the Rainey Substation. RAM’s markups were reviewed by Parsons and then drafted into engineering drawings according to Con Edison’s standards.

Project Highlights

RAM helped accelerate the schedule of the project by completing markups of 11 drawings in 3 weeks. Our team was also familiar with Con Edison’s computer programs, including WARS for cable schedules, conduit schedules, raceway schedules, point-to-point diagrams, and nameplates and Adept for drawing submissions.
