Project Description
In 2024, the City of Maple Ridge was in the process of decommissioning the Cottonwood Landfill. During regular operations and maintenance of the leachate pond, the City observed evidence of ground movement below its south and east slope. To ensure safe operation of the pond until the closure was completed, the design and construction of a slope stabilizing solution was necessary.
Our Role
RAM’s primary scope was to provide geotechnical engineering for the design and construction of the slope stabilization solution, as well as contract administration services. In addition to the design services, RAM provided:
- Project management and project engineering services as the prime consultant;
- Coordination of environmental design;
- Support for the City in permitting advisory and applications, permitting coordination to enable construction, and tender preparation;
- Support for the City with contract administration/inspection services during construction;
- A thorough walkthrough to identify deficiencies, and certification of substantial completion.
