Project Description
This design-build project involved approximately 500 lineal meters of piled 1200 mm diameter-lined concrete pipe. This endeavour included the design and construction of four tie-in chambers in soft ground conditions, which required no interruption to the existing system.
Our Role
RAM was retained as the main construction manager to optimize the relocation alignment to reduce piling and beam pipe quantities. Our team worked closely with the concrete precast supplier to come up with a design for the pile caps and pipe saddles that could be precast in their plant, resulting in major cost, schedule, and budget savings during construction. Major tie-in chambers were designed and built in a manner to reduce by-pass pumping of the system during the tie-in.
