A 16km feeder circuit of 25kVA from Cambie Substation in Richmond has reached its planning limit. This has resulted in downstream customers experiencing voltage issues. The purpose of the design into reconfigure the feeders as well as complete some cascade load transfers amongst the feeder circuits to free up the needed capacity beyond the planning limit. The project consists of overhead and underground work.
RAM completed detailed design and engineering technical support during construction, cut-covers and close out. The project objective is to resolve customer voltage issues due to planning limit on the feeder circuit. RAM’s scope includes:
- Inventory survey of the feeder and existing equipment
- Replacing fused cut-outs and installation of load break switches
- Transferring load
- Responding to inquiries during construction
