Project Description
The Canada Line connects downtown Vancouver with existing heavy rail lines, bus services, commuter rail, sea bus and the YVR airport. This driverless Skytrain system includes eight underground stations, six which are elevated, and two at-grade stations, as well as an operations and maintenance centre. The Canada Line Project was a public-private partnership operating as part of a network of public transit services in metropolitan Vancouver.
Our Role
RAM coordinated the construction and design for utility relocations, traffic detours, and temporary electrical works, as well as managing accommodation work to facilitate the excavation and construction of the cut and cover tunnel. Some of our team’s responsibilities included:
- Coordinating the construction of Yaletown / Roundhouse station and the restoration of Cambie Street following tunnel construction and backfill;
- Assisting in accelerating the project schedule by three months by successfully managing the installation of 12 temporary bridges and detours on urban arterial streets.
