Project Description

This project consisted of the design and construction of new civil works due to the adjacent land sale by Fraser Health. The Cottage and Worthington Pavilion, located in Abbotsford B.C., is a long-term care facility consisting of central living and dining room areas, as well as self-care facilities.

The scope of work for this project consisted of parking lot modifications, new driveway access, and the removal of a modular office building. The work, located in this congested and active long-term care facility,  meant that construction management had to accommodate limited workspaces, COVID-19 risks, continuous emergency and resident vehicle access, noise level restrictions, municipal government engagement, bylaw and permit adherence, and strict environmental management.

Our Role

RAM was retained by Fraser Health as construction managers to facilitate the site design modifications and management of the subsequent construction phase to accommodate the conditions of the sale of the neighboring land parcel. Our teams provided civil engineering design services for the new driveway construction, alterations to the existing parking lot, and is providing ongoing construction management services related to municipal engagement and civil works.

RAM worked closely with Fraser Health to ensure their specific concerns were carefully taken into account, with no impact to the facility’s daily operations.
