Project Description

FortisBC operates and maintains nine hydroelectric power facilities within B.C.’s interior, including the Kootenay River, the Columbia River, and the Pend d’Oreille Rive–which stretches from Washington State–with a total generation capacity of 1,547MW.

Our Role

In 2022, RAM’s electrical engineering team supported FortisBC’s Generation Engineering Group on its development of power, control, and instrumentation projects. Our responsibilities included:

• Definition of the scope of work, and battery limits of capital and sustainment projects.
• Conducting thorough estimates according to the AACE Cost Estimate Classification System.
• Coordinating with external consultants for elaboration on the Issued for Construction package.
• Expansion and review of request for proposal documents.
• Coordination of the elaboration of class estimate with external consultants.
