Project Description

RAM was contracted to act as an Infill Development Engineer (i.e., temporary Civil Engineer) to support the City of Port Moody’s Development Engineering Team.

RAM’s Role

RAM was retained to complete the engineered design and construction management of the development:

  • Complete Substantial Completion and Final Completion walkthroughs with Developer and process relevant paperwork to achieve the appropriate status
  • Conduct site meetings with the Developers and Contractors to review and provide direction on construction concerns
  • Complete Engineering reviews as referred by the City’s Planning Department. This included providing an Engineering Comments Letter that addresses concerns relating to site servicing, offsite and onsite works, grading, third-party utility conflicts, identifying gaps where municipal by-laws or MMCD standards are not met, etc.
  • Review and validate release requests for Security Deposits and Letters of Credit Drawdowns.

Project Highlights

  • Understanding and applying municipal standards from the Municipalities perspective.
  • Returning Engineering comments to the Planning Department on multiple applications with short review timelines.
  • Where a municipal standard did not exist, providing messaging to the Developer to adhere to a similar municipal standard from a neighbouring jurisdiction.
