Project Description
Within the Twleil Waututh Nation and situated in North Vancouver, Destiny at Raven Woods consists of of 44-unit luxury duplexes, and two five-storey condo developments comprising over 200 one- to three-bedroom units. These residences were constructed over two dual-level underground parkades featuring podium-top reflecting ponds.
Our Role
RAM’s geotechnical team directed a subsurface investigation involving excavation of 12 test pits and six auger holes. Following the subsurface investigation, our team designed temporary excavation shoring for the perimeter of the parkades.
During the construction phases of the projects, RAM’s geotechnical team carried out field reviews during regrading, bulk excavation, temporary shoring installation, foundation subgrade preparation, underslab gravel preparation, turbidity testing, backfilling and pavement subgrade preparation.
Phases one, two, and three (Phases two and three beyond photo) involved of the 250-unit, four-storey, three -building Seasons apartment development, founded over a two-level, shared, underground parkade. Geotechnical engineering services included foundation assessment, excavation shoring and underpinning design using pre-stressed, tied-back, reinforced shotcrete, sediment and erosion control, and retaining wall designs. Regular geotechnical field review services were provided during construction. Other services included:
- Site investigation;
- Excavation shoring design;
- Erosion and sediment control design and monitoring;
- Construction field reviews.
