Project Description
The Tank Farm 2 project provided two fuel storage tanks for an additional 20 million litre jet fuel, including fully re-designed fire suppression system, for the existing storage site at the Vancouver International Airport in Richmond BC, Canada. The supporting infrastructure includes:
- HDPE Liner and containment dyke system
- Outbound pump and filtration system
- New operations building
- Water and foam fire suppression systems
- Automated Programmable Logic Control system
RAM’s Role
RAM was retained to provide full Engineering Coordination, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for the project. RAM was initially engaged to build the Vancouver Airport Fuel Delivery (VAFD) project. As a result of the project success, the Client retained RAM to lead the construction management of Tank Farm 2 project.
- Monitored Contractors’ performance and progress in accordance with contractual requirements and overarching Safety and Quality Management plans
- Managed third-party utility relocations and approvals
- Developed the Project Execution Plan and all associated overarching Management Plans
- Managed the execution of RFPs & RFQs for all construction work packages and engineered equipment, as well as all subcontract negotiations and awards
- Procured specialized and long lead engineered services, materials and equipment, and manage supply chain accordingly
- Expedited delivery of engineered items
- Managed engineering subconsultants and input during execution of the Project and manage RFIs and technical documentation
- Completed oversight of all construction works, including contract administration, schedule, safety, quality, and environmental aspects
- Implemented and managed common site facilities and services
