Project Description
The Whatcom Road Connector in Abbotsford, B.C., crosses Sumas Mountain and provides a critical link between existing and proposed residential subdivisions on the north and south sides of the mountain.
The project consisted of the construction and operation of a two-lane roadway that links an existing section of Whatcom Road near Westview Boulevard in the northwest, to an existing section near Sandringham Drive in the southeast area of Abbotsford.
Our Role
RAM’s team played an integral role in this project, with multiple responsibilities:
- Coordinating field activities;
- Providing Project and Construction Management services for this new two-kilometre connector road through a difficult, environmentally-sensitive area;
- Managing multiple subcontractors, including rock blasting and MSE wall;
- Overseeing and managing the installation of city utilities, including water, sanitation, and storm.
