Project Description

Kwantlen Polytechnical University (KPU) required a Feasibility Study and Class 4 estimate for fast electric vehicle (EV) charges at three of its campuses. The study will help KPU secure funding for EV charging stations to be installed on campus.

Our Role

In 2021, RAM completed a feasibility study for KPU, identifying alternatives for new electric vehicles. Our team prepared a final feasibility report with evaluations and recommendations for the following:

• Available grants;
• Electric vehicle charger specifications and locations at 4 KPU campuses (Langley, Cloverdale, Surrey, and Richmond);
• Points of connection (electrical rooms) to feed new chargers; and electrical upgrades to feed new chargers;
• Class 4 Cost estimates, including engineering costs, civil and electrical construction costs, and operational costs.
