Project Description

The Hamlet of Fort Liard’s Waste Facility Expansion – Cell No. 4 project involved the construction of a new landfill cell to expand the capacity of the existing waste facility. Specific project scope items include:

• Clearing and grubbing
• Excavation
• Material hauling, placement, and stockpiling
• Grading
• Recompacted clay liner and berms construction
• Erosion and sediment control measures

Beaver’s Role

As the General Contractor, Beaver Enterprises provided the labour, equipment, and site supervision to execute the construction works. Responsibilities included:

• Providing labour, equipment, and site supervision
• Executing the excavation, earthworks, clay liner, berm and grading activities
• Coordinating daily construction activities and site resources
• Maintaining the work area and supporting environmental and safety requirements

RAM’s Role

RAM worked with Beaver Enterprises from tender preparation, estimating, and submission through project award. Following award, RAM acted as Construction Manager, providing contract administration and construction management services to coordinate the delivery of the landfill. Responsibilities included:

• Overall project and construction management
• Contract administration
• Quality control
• Cost management
• Construction inspections
• Submission of progress claims
• Schedule and site activity coordination
• Project reporting and documentation
