Project Description

Gitga’at First Nation built a daycare as part of Gitga’at’s overall capital program schedule for the 2022 and 2023 construction seasons. The project consisted of the construction of the standalone building and playground in the heart of Hartley Bay. The daycare was set to serve as a licensed childcare space to provide affordable and quality child care for local families.

RAM’s Role

RAM was retained by Gitga’at First Nation as Construction Managers to undertake a constructability review and value engineering exercise on engineering documents prior to the initiation of the procurement process. RAM will be creating a “fit for purpose” contracting strategy to select qualified contractors with a cost-effective risk management and project contingency strategy. Following contract execution, RAM will be working with the construction team to effectively plan site activities, develop comprehensive safety, environmental, and quality management programs, and ensure all permitting and regulatory requirements are met.
