Project Description
The intent of the project is to complete embankment and drainage improvements and asphaltic surface treatment of Liard Highway (No. 7), N.W.T., from Km 19.75 to Km 33.75 and Quarry Sites at Km 3.0 and Km 30.0. Specific project scope items include:
- Right-of-way clearing and clean-up
- Drilling, blasting and quarry development
- Load, haul, place and compact sub-base and base-course aggregates
- Installation of guardrails
- Roadway preparation and stockpiling
- Installation of CSP culverts
- Application of asphaltic surface treatments
- Ditch excavation
- Installation of traffic signs
RAM’s Role
RAM’s role is to act as the client’s construction manager and contract administrator to ensure the civil subcontractor performs the work consistent with the Government of Northwest Territories’ contract documents. RAM is directly responsible for the Quality Control (QC) component of the Quality Management program for the project. Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of project QC Plan
- Construction inspections
- Overall project and construction management activities
- Quality Control and material testing
- Reporting and certification
- Field engineering
