Project Description
This design-build project involved approximately 500 lineal meters of piled 1200 mm diameter lined concrete pipe. The project included design and construction of four tie-in chambers in soft ground conditions requiring no interruption to the existing system.
RAM’s Role
RAM was retained as the construction manager to optimize the relocation alignment to reduce piling and beam pipe quantities. RAM worked closely with the concrete precast supplier to come up with a design for the pile caps and pipe saddles that could be precast in their plant which resulted in a major cost and schedule savings during construction. Major tie-in chambers were designed and built in a manner to reduce by-pass pumping of the system during the tie-in.
