Project Description

Recognizing the preferred port of call status of St. Kitts & Nevis, the Port Authority decided to pursue a design-build for an additional cruise ship pier due to anticipated increases in tourist visits. The design-build project included a new pier that is 60 feet wide and 1700 feet long and designed to accommodate the berthing of the largest ships in the water; the Oasis class ships.

RAM’s Role

RAM was retained by JV Driver to provide Project and Construction Management. During the design phase, RAM managed the design consultants and provided value engineering services. RAM completed the project estimate and tendered all major subcontractors and material suppliers. During construction, a site construction manager managed all facets of the work.

Project Highlights

• Pier orientation more aligned with prevailing winds than existing
• Berthing of two Oasis class ships simultaneously
