Project Description

Whatcom Road Connector crosses Sumas Mountain and provides a critical link between existing and proposed residential subdivisions on the north and south sides of the mountain. The project consisted of the construction and operation of a two-lane roadway that connects an existing section of Whatcom Road near Westview Boulevard in the northwest to an existing section near Sandringham Drive in the southeast in Abbottsford, British Columbia.

RAM’s Role

RAM’s role included coordinating field activities and providing Project and Construction Management services for a new 2km connector road through a difficult environmentally sensitive area. RAM managed multiple subcontractors, including rock blasting and MSE wall, and managed the installation of city utilities including water, sanitary and storm.
