Indigenous Engagement
RAM has made partnering with and working alongside Indigenous groups a foundational aspect of our business.
We are committed to meaningful engagement with Indigenous communities.
At RAM, a foundational aspect of our business is engaging, collaborating and partnering with local Indigenous communities. Guided by our core values of innovation, integrity, and sustainability, our employees are committed to fostering and maintaining effective, respectful relationships with Indigenous communities within their territories.
We believe that mutual success is realized through meaningful discussion to understand the needs and interests of the community and finding innovative means for economic participation. This includes offering employment, training, and Indigenous business opportunities that support growth and development. We recognize that these opportunities are a mechanism for sustainable growth within Indigenous communities.
Additionally, RAM supports Indigenous People and communities through various initiatives, such as our annual Indigenous Youth Scholarship, donations to priority community events, participation in career fairs, and renting office space to support economic development. We actively seek new ways to connect and collaborate, always striving to build relationships that are genuinely beneficial in an effort to advance reconciliation for Indigenous Peoples.
We are guided by the following key principles:
- We value, build and maintain meaningful, long-lasting, and mutually beneficial relationships with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Communities.
- We prioritize sharing in economic benefits of our projects through partnerships, education and training programs, hiring and procurement policies, and support for Indigenous-owned businesses.
- We foster a corporate culture which understands and respects the rights of Indigenous peoples, their stewardship of their traditional territories, and the continuation of their culture, language, and heritage.
Through our membership with the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, RAM is building relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses and communities, and fostering an equitable and sustainable economy across Canada.
