Project Description
Rio Tinto planned to upgrade its port development laydown facilities comprised of multiple Alcan paved access roads and an aggregate finished storage facility. The scope of work included:
- Clearing, grubbing, and mass excavation
- Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) Wall Construction
- Anchored Secant Pile Wall Construction
- Road Base Construction and Asphalt Paving
- Utility Relocations and Installations including:
- Water Mains
- Sanitary Mains
- Storm Water Mains
- Underground and Overhead Electrical Cables
- Fiber-Optic Cables
RAM’s Role
RAM was retained by IDL Projects to complete a detailed Class 1 estimate for the Laydown Facilities. The work included detailed unit pricing from productions, crew buildup, equipment resources, and indirects.
