Project Description
A new gravel access road is required to replace an approach impacted by the Highway 8 reinstatement by the Ministry of Transportation and Transit (MOTT). The 6m-wide driveway, drainage swales, and culverts were designed in consultation with MOTT and local stakeholders. Construction, valued at ~$500K, which includes earthworks for future structures and upgrading the existing septic system to modern standards.
RAM’s Role
RAM’s role includes but is not limited to:
- Lead civil and geotechnical design — route selection, drawings, specifications, and drainage culvert design.
- Provide weekly site visits, field reports, RFI responses, test result reviews, and quantity/budget validation for progress draws.
- Oversee the contractors under a time-and-materials model, verifying quantities and coordinating with the stakeholders as needed.
- Deliver additional site preparations (greenhouse pads, woodshed, accessibility ramps) to support future community development.
- Prepare and submit all close-out documentation.
- Verify existing septic field conditions and confirm a feasible area to provide a new system up to modern standards.
