Featured Staff Member: Emile Boustany

Meet Emile, RAM’s Executive Director. For the last 20 years, Emile has been working on turnarounds and business development projects and became very efficient in analyzing companies, identifying problems, implementing solutions and action plans.

“These solutions ranged from strategy formulation to strategy execution; from instilling best commercial and manufacturing practices to analyzing and optimizing the entire value chain; from assessing the human capital in a company to all the aspects of talent management (recruiting, engaging, developing…) and of course aligning teams to objectives and goals of the organization.”

“The success of these projects came mainly from my engagement in each one of them. Hence, I was not considered as a consultant, I was fully in-charge of each turnaround or growth project and put my entire heart and skills in it, in order to make it happen. And for the sake of continuity and sustainability of the achievements, talented people were identified internally or hired externally, trained and engaged to keep fueling the growth and profitability of these companies.”

I’m also learning about the EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management) world from my RAM colleagues. What I like most about my role is strategizing and dreaming and making things happen. I strive for achievements, and at RAM, I have the opportunity to do it with a dynamic, energetic and diverse team.

What is your favorite part about working at RAM?

I love the work environment and the culture. It is fun and productive. A perfect dose of excitement and seriousness.

What are 3 career lessons you’ve learned this far?

  1. Never compromise on your values
  2. Your people make you or break you. In companies, it’s all about managing human resources
  3. To be successful in business, use the 3H model:
    • Head: use your head to analyze and to make sense of every decision you take
    • Heart: use your heart to be humane and to be inline with your values
    • Hands: use your hands to execute and act on what you have planned and decided

What is your favorite family tradition?

I love the tradition of “Sunday Family Lunches”, this is stuck in my head from my childhood where my family gathered every Sunday for a fabulous meal. But when we grew up and pursued our lives in different directions, the family got dispersed and it became very hard to maintain this tradition. When we’re back home, we trying to revive this tradition.
